The State Board of
Education (SBOE) is currently accepting applications for the 2015 Employers for
Education Excellence (EEE) Award. Texas employers who encourage and support
employee participation in school activities are eligible to be nominated.
- Bronze
– An employer that implements a policy to encourage
and support employees who attend parent-teacher conferences.
- Silver
– An employer that meets the requirements of bronze,
and implements a policy to encourage and support employees who volunteer
in school activities.
- Gold
– An employer that meets the requirements of silver,
and implements a policy to encourage and support employees who participate
in student mentoring programs in schools.
Once the application is received, the Commissioner of Education’s designee will review the applications and make recommendations to the SBOE regarding businesses or organizations that should receive an award, as well as the level of recognition. The SBOE may approve or modify those recommendations.
The SBOE will honor the recipient(s) with an award that includes the level of recognition. The EEE awards will be valid for three years. At the end of three years, an entity may reapply for the same level of recognition or for a higher level if it meets the criteria.
