Lindale teacher finalist for Texas Teacher of the Year 

Six Teachers Named Finalists for Texas Teacher of the Year Award
Six exceptional educators have been chosen as finalists in the Texas Teacher of the Year program. Three elementary and three secondary school educators were selected from the 40 regional Teachers of the Year and will now vie for the honor of being named Texas Elementary and Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year.
The elementary school finalists are:
  • Katherine Cass, a fourth-grade reading and social studies teacher at Chisum Elementary in Chisum Independent School District (ISD);
  • Whitney Crews, a sixth-grade English teacher at E.J. Moss Intermediate in Lindale ISD; 
  • Stephanie Green, a first-grade teacher at Hays Magnet Academy in Ector County ISD.
The secondary education finalists are:
  • Christine Amerson, an English language arts teacher at Harold Cade Middle School in Victoria ISD;
  • Irene Kistler, librarian at Edward H. White Middle School in North East ISD; and
  • Shanna Peeples, an English teacher at Palo Duro High School in Amarillo ISD.

Leading the Way Around Texas, Leadership for Students: StuCo 2014

Does your campus have a leadership focus for students? The Texas Elementary Principals & Supervisors Association has designed a very special opportunity for students in grades Fourth-Eighth and their advisers learn to build a dynamic team by:

  • Discussing leadership styles and skills 
  • Discovering techniques to generate peer participation
  • Exploring tools to create meaningful and challenging projects 
  • Networking with other student councils
  • Plus much more!
