T-TESS: the "NEW" Teacher Appraisal and Support System

This session will provide an
overview of the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System, T-TESS, which is the new Texas teacher appraisal system designed to support
teachers through professional development, helping them grow and improve in all
areas of professional practice. Come and learn more about the components of
T-TESS and about the 2015-2016 Statewide roll out.
A new Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) is under development and has been designed utilizing extensive input from the state’s teachers, principals, and administrators. As part of the state’s waiver from specific provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has submitted to the U.S. Department of Education specific details of a new teacher evaluation and support system that are in pilot-phase in as many as 72 school districts and charters in the 2014-2015 school year. The Region 7 ESC district designated for the pilot program is Martinsville ISD. Read more at the Texas Comprehensive Center.
