Hello! An Introduction

Hello Educators of Region 7,

I am reaching out to introduce myself as one of the newest members of the Region 7 ESC team. Some of you know me from my former role as Director of Communication at Pine Tree ISD, in Longview, Texas.

Presently I'm serving as Leadership Development Specialist for the Education Service Center Region 7, located in Kilgore, and am very excited to start this journey with you.  I have included a little information about myself in the paragraphs below, but if you are in a hurry and scanning emails, here is what to remember:  I am here to support you and hope to meet you or talk to you soon.

I am very excited to join the Region 7 Team; the position of Leadership Development Specialist caught my attention as an important opportunity to impact students and learning in public schools by serving people like you - the leaders in our region, as well as supporting our future leaders in East Texas. This new position is designed to provide support for all levels of leadership in our school districts, and we need your feedback about what you believe is important.

How can we help support you and others in your district to succeed as leaders?
Email vechols@esc7.net
Your feedback is critical and greatly appreciated.

Goals for the upcoming year include:
  • building on the strong network of leaders-helping-leaders for the good of all children;
  • establishing an effective communication flow of information about best practices; and
  • assisting in the design of new pathways for future leaders.

I’m sure you’ll agree that our democracy, and the future of our communities depend on strong public schools.  And without a doubt, strong leaders produce strong schools!  I look forward to meeting you if our paths have not yet crossed, and working with each of to meet the unique needs of your campus and district.

Vickie
